It may just be a saying, but the city of Detroit, Michigan, really is a concrete jungle—thanks to their Major League Baseball team, the Detroit Tigers, and their stadium, Comerica Park. Situated in the midst of downtown Detroit, Comerica Park officially opened its doors in 2000 as a replacement for Tiger Stadium, where the Detroit Tigers had played since the early 1900s.

Thanks to the relative newness of the baseball stadium, Comerica Park is able to boast a number of fresh features and interesting décor. In fact, nowhere is this more apparent than at the entrance of the ballpark, where fans will encounter an impressive 15-feet tiger statue that stands in honor of the team. Comerica Park also has a few “hidden” gems, such as a Ferris wheel and carousel that sit behind the stands and a Monument Park with statues of former players can be found near the outfield.

When Comerica Park isn't playing host to the Detroit Tigers and visiting teams, it doubles as a concert venue with popular singers and touring bands making a stop to show their stuff to the crowd. Well-known names such as Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi have played to Comerica Park crowds.
